Their website was previously incomplete, unattractive, and nearly invisible in Google search results. It is now ranked high for their key search terms and receiving upwards of 250 unique visitors each month. We started from scratch building their email list and sending out regular tips, new product announcements, and exclusive deals for people on the mailing list. We are currently averaging more than one email list signup per day, meaning that a year from now we'll be marketing to over 400 people who like this business and their products and asked to receive their emails. That's powerful, and it hasn't been hard to do!
We created a test marketing campaign for specialty contractors in a city of about 100,000. This campaign included a simple website, a couple of short videos, and a Facebook page. Since it was a test, we only targeted one search term with this campaign - when people type that phrase into Google, we want our stuff to appear. Given the size of the city and the business niche it was, not a ton of people search for this term. When they do, though, you want to appear first in Google.
Within 5-6 weeks of launching this campaign, we owned the top six search results in Google for the keyword phrase we targeted. This is a powerful example of search engine optimization and how it can be used to help local businesses be found by people looking for them. Note that we did not have to do any paid advertising in Google to obtain these results. We only used free, ethical techniques (known as "white hat SEO") available to any business that wants to get ranked higher in search engines.
A little while back we did Google Places Optimization and started an Internet Directory Marketing program for a transmission repair shop. Business had been slow for them. This business didn't appear on the front page of Google for local searches like "transmission shops" and "transmission repair" (with the exception of one search where they were towards the bottom of the first page). The owner was spending several hundred dollars a month on online marketing with YellowPages.com, but he wasn't seeing results.
Within 3-4 weeks of us beginning work, this business began to appear on the middle of the first page for over half a dozen different local searches related to transmission repair. Most importantly, they began regularly receiving new calls from customers who found them on the internet.
A couple of simple internet marketing services performed for this business have had an immediate impact on their bottom line!
